Below are some useful resources you can use at home to improve your Welsh.
At GCSE Collins Education have a Revision Guide for Welsh 2nd Language GCSE which will be helpful to you throughout your GCSE course. If you are studying the Welsh
2nd Language Applied GCSE the ‘Ar Waith’ course book will give you lots of exercises and questions to practise.It is a good idea to have a Welsh dictionary but take care when looking for a new word in Welsh! Having found a word check that it is the word you want by looking at it in the Welsh section and seeing what meaning is given in English. This could help avoid an unfortunate mistake! The Welsh alphabet is different from the English alphabet so it can be difficult when looking words up in Welsh. Here is the Welsh alphabet:
Welsh magazines are available for all ages of Welsh learners. For primary school learners there is ‘Bore Da’ and for KS3 and KS4 learners there is ‘IAW!’. ‘Lingo newydd’ is a magazine for adult learners but is also suitable for KS4 and A Level.
‘Golwg’ is a weekly Welsh magazine suitable for A Level and beyond.
There are also a few nice Welsh games to play at home with the family!
